SHELBYVILLE, IN—APRIL 8, 2013—Schooling races will be conducted at Indiana Downs on Saturday April 13 and Saturday April 20 at Indiana Downs, according to Michelle Collins, Executive Director of the QHRAI.
"There will be horsemen's meeting in the receiving bard at 12 noon and the first race will be called at 12:15," Collins said.
Interested trainers wanting to enter two-year-olds in these races are asked to contact Michelle at 317-509-6372. Field size will be limited to four or five horses. Official works and gates may be approved.
The Quarter Horse Racing Association of Indiana sponsored schooling races for 2 year olds on Thursday, April 26th at Indiana Downs. The first of five races started at noon and 20 horses gained the experience they needed to get ready to start in an official race. By starting in a schooling race, horses had the opportunity to get an official 250 yard work and to get gate approved. The day proved to be a great experience. QHRAI would like to thank Indiana Downs General Manager, Jon Schuster and all the people who worked so hard to make the races successful.
